Week Six
Review
Hey there Agents of Change!
Here we are at week six… can you believe it? And what a journey it has been.
We have covered a lot of material in the last five weeks and now it is time to start to putting it together so that it becomes a practical method for you. I’m hoping that you have been practicing as we have gone along as that will make putting it all together a bit easier for you.
Belief Systems
We talked about belief systems and we drilled down a bit deeper into what is called the “pay off” or the “secondary gain”. We talked about, and I showed you how, to uncover these beliefs and why we need to be consciously be aware of these in regard to helping our client become unstuck.
Remembering that we are looking for both the conscious and unconscious belief systems as well as any ancestral beliefs. In understanding what beliefs our clients are using to navigate their world, we have a better map of the territory that we are working in.
Changing Beliefs
There is a sample below of me working with someone to change the beliefs. Watch and see if you are aware of when and how I am relinking.
Representational System
Week two we dove into the representational system and how important it is to making changes. Have you noticed how much more you are aware of the language you clients are using?
We jumped into this in week two so that you were able to build a solid foundation for recognizing the different systems and just how important the different representational systems are to making change.

The Input System

Week four we explored the Output system and the importance of knowing the representational systems in order to identify what system is being used to express the inner experience. Re-watch the video below and see if this information is more familiar to you now.

The Out of Conscious Unconscious System
Which brings us to the Pièces de Résistance of Systems of Change….
We explored all things Out of Conscious Unconscious System. This is:
- Any system that an individual is unable to bring into awareness, or that they are unaware of, is their out of conscious system.
- In the areas where a person is dysfunctioning or has pain, the Out of Conscious system could be what is preventing the person from having choices as to change.
- It is the blocked system– the system that holds the painful memories and the mind has kept hidden.

WHAT IS SO IMPORTANT ABOUT UNDERSTANDING BELIEFS?
Understanding beliefs will give you the structure of what is holding the issue or problem in place.
Changing the behavior without changing the belief is like changing the color of a building… the interior and the structure remains the same. If the structure is not addressed the mind will simply recreate the issue.
